Bold Text Generator

Make bold text you can paste anywhere: bold serif, bold sans-serif, bold italic, bold script and bold gothic. Free, one-click copy.

How it works

Each letter and digit is swapped for a matching character from the Unicode standard. The result is ordinary text, not a font file, so it stays styled when you paste it. Characters that have no styled version, such as punctuation, emoji and non-Latin letters, are left as they are. Bold styles also cover the digits 0 to 9, so numbers are bold too in the serif and sans-serif styles.

Example: โ€œHello 123โ€ becomes ๐‡๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐จ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ‘ in bold, ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—น๐—น๐—ผ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฏ in sans-serif bold.

Frequently asked questions

Why not just press Ctrl+B?

Most places where you want bold, such as profile bios, chat names and short posts, have no formatting buttons. Bold Unicode characters work wherever plain text is accepted.

What is the difference between bold and sans-serif bold?

Bold uses a serif design, like Times. Sans-serif bold looks like Arial or Helvetica Bold and is easier to read at small sizes.

Do bold digits work?

Yes in the bold and sans-serif bold styles. Bold italic, bold script and bold gothic have no digits in Unicode, so numbers stay plain.

Is bold Unicode text accessible?

Not fully. Screen readers may spell out each letter by its Unicode name. For important information, use real bold formatting where it is available.
