How it works
Instagram has no font picker for names, bios and captions, so these styles are Unicode characters that you paste in. Each letter and digit is swapped for a matching character from the Unicode standard. The result is ordinary text, not a font file, so it stays styled when you paste it. Characters that have no styled version, such as punctuation, emoji and non-Latin letters, are left as they are.
Example: βHello 123β becomes πππ₯π₯π¨ πππ in bold, ββ―ππβ΄ 123 in script, οΌ¨ο½ ο½ο½ο½ οΌοΌοΌ in fullwidth.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use these fonts in my Instagram username?
No. Usernames allow only letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so styled characters are rejected. They work in the Name field, the bio, captions and comments.
How do I change the font in my Instagram bio?
Type your text above, press Copy next to the style you like, open Edit profile in Instagram and paste it into the Name or Bio field.
Will styled text hurt how people find me?
Search matches normal letters, not styled characters, so keep your main keyword in plain text in your name or bio and use a style for the rest.

Which style is easiest to read?
Bold and sans-serif bold stay readable at small sizes. Script and gothic are best for a word or a short name.
