How it works
Each letter and digit is swapped for a matching character from the Unicode standard. The result is ordinary text, not a font file, so it stays styled when you paste it. Characters that have no styled version, such as punctuation, emoji and non-Latin letters, are left as they are. The cursive styles use the Unicode mathematical script letters, a calligraphic design, so the letters do not join like handwriting.
Example: “Hello 123” becomes ℋℯ𝓁𝓁ℴ 123 in script, 𝓗𝓮𝓵𝓵𝓸 123 in bold script. Digits stay plain because Unicode has no cursive digits.
Frequently asked questions
Is this real handwriting?
No. The letters are calligraphic script characters. They look like cursive but do not connect to each other.
Why do a few letters look slightly different?
Some script capitals and small letters, such as ℬ, ℰ, ℯ and ℊ, sit in another part of Unicode for historical reasons. They match the style, but fonts may draw them a little differently.
Why are my numbers not cursive?
Unicode has no script digits, so numbers are left as normal digits.
Where does cursive text work?
In bios, captions, chat messages and comments in most apps. It will not work in fields that only allow plain letters, such as usernames.
